The non-conference matchup kicks off a 5-game road trip
Washington State baseball will head south to Corvallis on Tuesday to start a two-game road trip against Oregon State. The Cougs and the Beavs will meet for the only time this year as non-conference opponents. The Beavs opted to go Independent for the year while the Cougs are in the Mountain West.
It was a rough start for the Cougs this season as they began 0-8 and have since gone 5-2. Meanwhile, the Beavs are ranked #8 in the nation and sit at 10-3 and are on a 4 game winning streak.
This past weekend, the Cougs took on Seattle University in a three-game series. On Friday they won their first Mountain West game 6-4 behind a 5-run second inning. They continued on Saturday with a 9-4 win behind the bat of Max Hartman. They struggled in the series finale on Sunday and trailed 12-4 heading into the bottom of the 9th. They got some things going in the bottom of the inning and brought home 6-runs for a 12-10 loss.
The first of the two games are scheduled for first pitch at 5:35 today with tomorrow’s first pitch scheduled at 3:05. Both games are scheduled to be on KOIN / CW in the Portland area.
Following their matchup against the Beavs, the Cougs will head to Colorado to take on Air Force for a three-game series. Those three games will be televised on Mountain West Network.
