What I think we should bring into the New Year, and what I won’t be sad to leave in 2024
Good morning, Coug fans!
I hope everyone is kicking their 2025 off strong! For me, yesterday felt like the epitome of a Monday and it was, hmm, Thursday, so that caught me a little off guard. But I’m excited to be here on a beautiful Friday morning (it’s raining) sitting at a coffee shop called Diva Espresso. Classy joint!
A trend in the New Year that I’ve seen among friends and on social media alike is making these nifty little “ins and outs” lists. Notice how I used the term ‘nifty’ – clearly I am not the creator of this concept.
“Ins” are things you intend to carry with you, or things you discovered in the last year that you want to keep in the rotation. “Outs” are things that you’ve never liked, but maybe other people are into, or bad things that keep happening, or things you just aren’t a fan of. Here’s my ins and outs for our Washington State Cougars in 2025!
In
Zevi Eckhaus
Everyone going to more women’s basketball games
Sharing a fireball shooter with a friend
New football coach – welcome to the neighborhood, Mr. Rogers!
Someone buying Zoe’s and keeping it exactly the same
Someone buying Cougar Country Drive-In and keeping it almost the same
Basketball halftime shows on ESPN+, shameless plug
People withdrawing from the transfer portal
Tampering BUT ONLY WHEN WE DO IT – legally speaking that’s a joke
Back to back basketball games
Mixing in a water
The vintage market that’s by The Coug- seriously, they’re doing Gods work over there
Out
Dry January (no offense)
Injuries
Seriously, injuries. No more. Looking at you, men’s hoops.
Games that air at the same time as Oregon State games
The transfer portal, unless we snag some great players
UW (they were never in, they’re just really really out)
Fighting with each other online
Injuries, again
Bad refs
The SEC
Not attending women’s basketball games
Weak calves
There we have it: my Ins and Outs for the Cougs in 2025. What’s on your list?
