Less than 24 hours after losing in the national championship game, Washington wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk announced his plans for the future.
Polk told ESPN on Tuesday that he’s declaring for the NFL Draft.
“For me, it really was a tough decision leaving my brothers,” Polk said, via Pete Thamel. “Just knowing the opportunities of being able to make another run next year again. But I think this is the right time.”
Washington’s offense was explosive this season for a variety of season, which includes Polk’s game-breaking potential. He had 69 catches for 1,159 yards and nine touchdowns.
Prior to the 2023 season, Polk was considered a solid role player for the Huskies. He’ll now leave the program as a very intriguing NFL prospect.

Polk won’t be the only offensive playmaker leaving the Huskies this offseason. Michael Penix Jr. and Rome Odunze are expected to be first-round picks in the upcoming draft.
The 2024 NFL Draft will take place from April 25-27.
