Washington will be without its backup quarterback for the upcoming College Football Playoff.
247Sports’ Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer reported Monday that Dylan Morris will enter the NCAA transfer portal. The former four-star class of 2019 recruit has one more year of eligibility remaining.
Morris backed up Michael Penix Jr. each of the last two seasons after making 15 starts in 2020-21. In four games this fall, the Puyallup, Wash. native completed 9-of-14 passes for 224 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

After starting all four games and earning All-Pac-12 honorable mention honors during the COVID-shortened 2020 season, Morris made 11 starts in 2021.
He completed 60.6% of his throws for 2,468 yards, 14 touchdowns and 12 interceptions as the Huskies finished 4-8 under Jimmy Lake and interim head coach Bob Gregory.
While his time was limited behind Penix Jr. in each of the last two seasons, Morris could be a good fit for a program seeking to add a veteran with more than two dozen games of experience under his belt.
Washington (13-0) will take on Texas in the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1.
