Over the past few months, Will Rogers has entered the NCAA transfer portal twice. The first time around, he transferred from Mississippi State to Washington.
Shortly after Washington lost head coach Kalen DeBoer to Alabama, Rogers re-entered the portal. On Wednesday, Pete Nakos of On3 provided an update on the talented signal-caller.
After considering his options, Rogers has reportedly decided to stay at Washington. As a result, he’ll withdraw his name from the portal.
This is a huge win for Washington head coach Jedd Fish. He can now confidently build his offense around Rogers for the 2024 season.
NEWS: Washington QB Will Rogers has officially withdrawn from the NCAA Transfer Portal, @PeteNakos_ reports.

Rogers thrived in the late Mike Leach’s system, throwing for 3,974 yards and 35 touchdowns during the 2022 season. His production fell off a cliff in 2023, as he finished the year with just 1,625 yards and 12 touchdowns.
To be fair, Rogers struggled this past season in large part because he didn’t like the pro-style system that Zach Arnett installed.
If Rogers rediscovers his 2022 form, he’ll be a worthy successor to Michael Penix Jr. at Washington.
