The Washington Huskies defeated the Oregon Ducks in a game with massive implications for both the final Pac-12 Championship Game and the College Football Playoff. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. had a message for their new conference after the game.
Speaking to reporters after their 36-33 win, Penix declared that the Big Ten “better be ready” for Washington after the display they had for the wider sports world today.
“They should appreciate it. And they better be ready,” Penix said.
Penix is no stranger to the Big Ten, having played for Indiana and leading them to one of their best seasons ever during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. But he has proven to be an even better player than the Hoosiers realized they had.
“They better be ready.”

Michael Penix Jr. had 302 passing yards and four touchdown passes during the win over Oregon. He now has over 2,300 passing yards and 20 touchdown passes on the season.
He’s a legitimate candidate for the Heisman Trophy now and will only get more serious as a contender if if he continues to have incredible games like the one he had today.
Penix is unlikely to join Washington in their move to the Big Ten as he’s currently in his sixth year of college football. But he’s determined to send them out of the Pac-12 on the highest of notes.
