It seems like every few years we see a player celebrate prematurely by dropping the ball before he reaches the endzone. But Washington linebacker Alphonzo Tuputala lucked out this Saturday.
After making a catch and running the ball towards the endzone, he spiked the ball – two yards short and inside the field of play. A Utah player managed to jump on the ball and officials called it a fumble recovered by the Utes.
Fortunately for Tuputala, after it was ruled that he fumbled and it, the Huskies defense was able to get a safety on the very next play to wipe away Tuputala’s mistake.
