Despite suffering an injury in the Sugar Bowl against Texas, it sounds like Washington running back Dillon Johnson will suit up for the College Football Playoff National Championship.
On Saturday morning, Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer was asked about Johnson’s status for Monday’s showdown with Michigan.
“We’re expecting him to play,” DeBoer said, via Dan Wolken of USA TODAY Sports.

Earlier this week, DeBoer made similar comments about Johnson’s availability for the national title game.
“There’s nothing as far as above and beyond what has happened in the past. Just kind of throughout the game he’ll re-aggravate it, shake it off and go back out there and play,” DeBoer said. “I guess my thoughts are that he’ll be ready to go.”
Washington’s chances of defeating Michigan are much greater with Johnson starting at running back.
Johnson will enter Monday’s game with 1,162 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on 222 carries
