One of the top in-house candidates for the Washington Huskies to replace Kalen DeBoer is offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb. But is Grubb ready to take over where his longtime boss left off?
It appears that the answer is no. Taking to social media a short while ago, Grubb announced that he will not be the next head coach and is leaving Washington
“Though I wanted to be I will not be the next head coach at the University of Washington. It would have been a dream to stay here and fight to maintain the standard that had been reestablished… and with tears in my eyes I know my last day in Husky Stadium has come… Thank you for all the support and belief you gave to me and my family…” Grubb wrote as part of a much longer message.
There’s significant speculation that Grubb will join DeBoer at the University of Alabama.

Ryan Grubb has worked alongside Kalen DeBoer at most of DeBoer’s stops since 2005.
After DeBoer was named head coach at Sioux Falls in 200, he initially hired Grubb as his running backs coach and gave him different roles over the next few years. Grubb stayed at Sioux Falls when DeBoer left to become offensive coordinator at Southern Illinois in 2010, but they reunited at Fresno State in 2014 and again at Fresno State.
Will DeBoer and Grubb work together again at Alabama?
