Washington has reportedly found its new football head coach.
According to Action Network’s Brett McMurphy, the Huskies are hiring Jedd Fisch to replace Kalen DeBoer. Giving Fisch a new contract “wasn’t a priority” for Arizona.

Alabama hired DeBoer to replace the retiring Nick Saban as head coach. Earlier this week, DeBoer led Washington into the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
While Fisch didn’t take Arizona as far, the Wildcats closed the season on a seven-game winning streak. They concluded a 10-3 campaign with a 38-24 victory over No. 12 Oklahoma in the Alamo Bowl.
Arizona, which went 1-11 when Fisch replaced Kevin Sumlin in 2021, has only reached 10 wins twice in the last 25 seasons. The Wildcats are candidates to take a Washington-like leap behind quarterback Noah Fifita, but players have a 30-day window to transfer after Fisch’s departure.
Fisch has considerable experience at the college and NFL levels. He was a quarterback coach with the Seattle Seahawks in 2010 and returned to the NFL as the Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator after holding the same job for the Miami Hurricanes.
Fisch spent two years at Michigan before stints with UCLA, the Los Angeles Rams, and the New England Patriots. He’s thus worked for Pete Carroll, Jim Harbaugh, Sean McVay, and Bill Belichick.
The 47-year-old Fisch will lead Washington into the Big Ten next year. He likely must keep the program afloat with a new-look roster that could lose up to nine of their starting offensive players, including star quarterback Michael Penix Jr.
