Tennessee lost its chance of landing one heck of a quarterback a few years ago.
According to Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr., Tennessee revoked his scholarship offer, which led to him going elsewhere.
“Yes, they (Tennessee) took my offer,” he said.

Penix Jr. didn’t let that affect him and he’s gone on to have one heck of a collegiate career.
He started his career at Indiana and spent four years with the program before transferring to Washington for the final two years of his eligibility.
He’s had the best season of his career to date in 2023, completing 66.7% of his passes for 4,648 yards, 35 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.
Penix Jr. will play one more game on Monday night against Michigan before the NFL comes calling in April.
Kickoff from Houston will be at 7:30 p.m. ET and it’ll be nationally televised by ESPN.
