The Atlanta Falcons reportedly had a little bit of trouble reaching third-round pick Bralen Trice in this year’s draft.
Per Josh Kendall of The Athletic: “The Falcons had the wrong number when they first tried reaching out to Washington edge Bralen Trice.”
“‘My agent texted and said, ‘Answer your phone.’ I’m like, ‘I’m not getting any calls,'” the Huskies edge rusher said.
Thankfully everything was able to get squared away and the Falcons were able to bring a familiar face to Atlanta for quarterback Michael Penix Jr.
Brice was regarded as a high-character team leader during his time at UW and put up some great numbers for the Dawgs as an upperclassman.
Now he and Penix will look to bring some of that winning culture to The A where they haven’t made the playoffs since 2017.
Help on the edge defensively was viewed as one of the Falcons’ biggest needs coming into the weekend but they surprised everyone (Kirk Cousins included) by going QB at pick No. 8.
It’ll be interesting to hear the reasoning behind some of the selections they made but they appear to have gotten a good one in Trice.
