Washington punter Jack McCallister has been effective against Michigan tonight, but not exactly aesthetically pleasing.
McCallister has punted four times for 202 yards, an average of 50.5 yards per boot. He has a long of 56 yards and has parked two of his kicks inside the Michigan 20, which are all good things.
However, McCallister’s punts have been downright ugly at times, coming out with a low, line drive trajectory and getting fortuitous rolls along the turf at NRG Stadium.
X/Twitter users have definitely taken notice.
“Washington punter is getting some great bounces,” said Ralph Russo of the Associated Press.

“The Washington punter is like hitting your driver with the head cover still on,” said golf instructor Travis Fulton.

“Nobody is talking enough about how lucky Washington’s punter has been. He’s been BRUTAL but every punt has bounced in his favor and rolled another 20 yards lol,” chimed in bettor Blair Montgomery.

Hey, sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good.
McCallister has certainly helped his team tonight, though Michigan is still leading 20-13 early in the fourth quarter.
