College football boasts 27 undefeated teams entering Week 5. An ESPN analyst has an off-the-grid choice for his best squad,
Bill Connelly placed Washington atop his rankings of those undefeated programs. He advised fans that space is running out on the Huskies bandwagon after a scorching start to the season.
We have 27 unbeatens left. (It’ll be about 21 at the end of Week 5.) I ranked them. And I’m just saying, there aren’t that many good seats left on the Husky bandwagon…https://t.co/saP4hoM7O7

The Huskies have scored 49.8 points per game while allowing just 17.0. An explosive offense leads the nation with a whopping 467.3 passing yards per contest.
“My expectations are so high for Washington’s offense at this point that I found myself thinking, ‘Man, they’re kinda sloppy and out of sync tonight’ earlier,” Connelly wrote during Saturday’s 59-32 win over California, “They have 45 points with 44 seconds left in the first half. Against a Pac-12 opponent.”

With 16 passing touchdowns and 11.9 yards per attempt, quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is emerging as an early Heisman Trophy favorite. The senior has already connected with wide receiver Rome Odunze for 544 yards and four touchdowns.
However, few share Connelly’s top choice. Washington ranks No. 7 in the AP poll and No. 8 in the Coaches Poll, with one No. 1 vote in each. The Huskies have yet to face a ranked opponent, but that will change when they host Oregon on Oct. 14.
Connelly will likely have high hopes for that Pac-12 showdown, as he placed the Ducks fifth in his rankings. The usual suspects — Georgia, Ohio State, and Michigan — are sandwiched between Washington and Oregon, followed by Texas and Oklahoma.
