Legendary coach Bill Belichick couldn’t keep himself away from the gridiron for very long.
On Saturday, a photo of Belichick at Washington’s facility surfaced on social media. He was repping the Huskies with a grey hoodie.
It’s not a huge surprise that Belichick attended one of Washington’s practice sessions. His son Steve was hired as the program’s defensive coordinator this past February.
During an appearance on the “Green Light” podcast, Steve Belichick even said his father could show up for practice since he just loves the game so much.
“He was excited when I came out here, because he got to evaluate the scheme last year, evaluate the players last year,” Steve Belichick said. “I’m sure he’ll come out here at some point to do some stuff. But the guy just loves football, so there’s definitely that element.”

Despite his incredible résumé, Belichick failed to land a coaching job this offseason. He was heavily linked to the Atlanta Falcons, but they ultimately hired Raheem Morris.
It’s possible that Belichick will be on TV this fall to cover the 2024 season. We can’t rule out a return to the sideline next offseason, though.
