The four Zags had a successful trip to Las Vegas.
Julian Strawther – Denver Nuggets
Strawther, the former Gonzaga shooting star who was the 29th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, averaged an NBA 2K25 Summer League-best 28.5 PPG on 42.5 FG%/40.9 3PT%. That was to go along with 4.0 RPG, 3.0 APG and 1.0 SPG in his two games with Denver before they decided to shut him down.
Strawther proved he didn’t need to be out there anymore and the Nuggets feel confident with where he’s at. Mike Malone must be impressed and contemplating whether he should move him up in the rotation heading into Year 2.
Drew Timme – Sacramento Kings
Overall, the Gonzaga legend had a pretty productive performance with Sacramento this summer. Timme averaged 11.4 PPG on 63.2%, 4.4 RPG and 1.0 SPG in five games. If the Kings won’t give him a shot down in the G-League with Stockton, someone else needs to sign the big fella immediately.

Anton Watson – Boston Celtics
As the 54th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, I thought Watson exceeded expectations for a Boston fanbase that is coming off a championship. He averaged 11.8 PPG on 51.1 FG%/35.0 3PT%/85.7 FT% and 5.2 RPG in five games for the Boston Celtics. A pleasant surprise with how quickly Watson has adjusted to this level of play and will only continue to get better with more reps leading into his first season.
Killian Tillie – Boston Celtics
In five games, Tillie averaged 8.4 PPG on 48.5 FG%/41.2 3PT%, 3.8 RPG and 1.0 BPG. For not having played basketball since 2022 due to a back injury, he did pretty well and deserves a shot to get back in the NBA ranks. Tillie might’ve moved himself into a roster spot with the Maine Celtics of the G-League.
