Power forward/center Zach Collins was apart of the De’Aaron Fox-Zach LaVine blockbuster trade and is on his way to the Windy City. LaVine is headed to the Sacramento Kings while Fox will be joining the San Antonio Spurs.

Collins has been with the San Antonio organization since 2021-22. Over that stretch, the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft averaged 9.7 points per game on 49.6 FG%/34.0 3PT%/77/5 FT%, 5.2 rebounds per game, and 2.5 assists per game.
He missed the start of this season while recovering from a surgery on his right labrum. Collins suffered the injury in last season’s regular season finale. Through 36 games played in 2024-25, He is scoring just 4.6 points per game in 11.8 minutes per game. Collins’ numbers have taken a dip after two straight seasons of averaging 11.4 points per game.
One of the most legendary moments in his time spent at San Antonio was when he made this obscene gesture towards official Michael Smith during a game against Domantas Sabonis and the Sacramento Kings on December 7th, 2024. Collins was fined $35,000 for the act.

Countless injuries and surgeries have derailed his career. In 2019, Collins had a surgery to repair his left labrum and was sidelined for about four months while he was with the Portland Trail Blazers. In 2020, Collins had undergone successful surgery in repairing his left medial malleolus stress fracture but missed the entire 2020-2021 season. As he was recovering from his previous injury, Collins refractured his foot and underwent a second revision surgery to repair his left medial malleolus stress fracture in 2021.
