The former Zag is on his third G-League team (Wisconsin Herd, Stockton Kings, Long Island Nets) since going undrafted in 2023.
The Long Island Nets have acquired former Gonzaga forward Drew Timme from the Stockton Kings in a three-team trade. In exchange, Long Island traded former UCLA guard Amari Bailey to the Iowa Wolves.
This is Timme’s third G-League team (Wisconsin Herd, Stockton Kings, Long Island Nets) since going undrafted in 2023. In his first game with Long Island, he scored 23 points on 8-16 FG/4-7 FT, 15 rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block in 38 minutes in the 122-114 loss at the Delaware Blue Coats.
In his G-League career, Timme has averaged 11.0 PPG on 51.9 FG%, 5.8 RPG, 2.3 APGA in 20.8 MPG through 29 games. It’s a hard job being a journeyman in the G-League as he fights for just a chance at an NBA roster spot. If he can continue to stay healthy, Timme will be able to put together a full season of highlights for general managers to take a serious look at.
The Brooklyn Nets have had a disappointing season with a 12-20 record for the 12th spot in the Eastern Conference standings with not a ton of talent in the frontcourt to be excited about.
