let’s celebrate the first day of practice!
As stated in the NCAA Rule Book under code 17.3.2.2 “An institution shall not commence on-court preseason basketball practice sessions prior to 5 p.m. on the date that is 40 days prior to the date of the institution’s first regular-season contest. An institution shall not engage in more than 30 days of countable athletically related activities prior to its first regular-season contest.”
Why does this matter? Well, with just about 40 days left until the first regular season matchup against Montana on November 5th, the team kicked off their first practice followed by these lovely drops:

Ah man. Squeaky sneakers. Balls bouncing. Nets swishing. Yvonne showing off the crossover. Allie’s quick release. Maud bossing the scout team. The only thing I don’t like about the first video is it’s length because it’s beautiful stuff to see the team getting back into court action.
It’s also really cool to see Bree on the court after her knee injury last season. I can’t tell from the video if she was participating in the same drills as everyone else, something I doubt given the timing of everything, but to see her dressed to play warms my heart.
Don’t forget to set your calendars for 6pm EST on October 12th to check out the Fan Fest!
