Gonzaga-Baylor announcement next?
Another piece of the non-conference scheduling puzzle is put into place. UMass Lowell out of the American East will be going across the country to take on Gonzaga on November 15th. The River Hawks went 22-10 last season as a member of the American East Conference and almost snuck into the NCAA Tournament but ended up losing to Vermont in the tournament championship, 66-61.
Here is what the 2024-2025 non-conference schedule is shaping up to look like for the Zags with two more game announcements to follow:
November 10th vs Arizona State
November 15th vs UMass Lowell
November 18th at San Diego State
November 20th vs Long Beach State
November 27th vs West Virginia (Battle 4 Atlantis)
November 28th vs Louisville/Indiana (Battle 4 Atlantis)
November 29th vs Arizona/Oklahoma/Providence/Davidson (Battle 4 Atlantis)
December 7th vs Kentucky (in Climate Pledge Arena)
December 14th vs UConn (in Madison Square Garden)
December 18th vs Nicholls State
December 28th vs UCLA (in Intuit Dome)
The Gonzaga-Baylor matchup seems to be just about a done deal. The location is the last question needed to be answered as Mexico City and Las Vegas are being thrown around as legitimate options. “We’re just finishing up something with Baylor,” Mark Few said on Jon Rothstein’s podcast. This would likely be a Top 10 matchup and a rematch of the 2021 national championship game.
