A Big West foe is making the trip to Spokane during the non-conference.
Last season’s Big West tournament champions are coming to the Kennel on November 20th. If you remember, Dan Monson (Gonzaga’s head coach from 1997-1999) was fired right before the start of the tournament and ended up leading Long Beach State to an automatic NCAA Tournament bid as a #15 seed. The Beach would end up losing to Tommy Lloyd’s two-seeded Arizona Wildcats in the first round, 85-65.
Chris Aker is taking over the coaching reins in Long Beach. It will be a tough job as the Beach are losing their top eight scorers from last season. Devin Askew was added to the roster and will be joining his fourth different program in his collegiate career (Kentucky, Texas, California).
Here is what the 2024-2025 non-conference schedule is shaping up to look like for the Zags with three more game announcements to follow:
November 10th vs Arizona State
November 18th at San Diego State
November 20th vs Long Beach State
November 27th vs West Virginia (Battle 4 Atlantis)
November 28th vs Louisville/Indiana (Battle 4 Atlantis)
November 29th vs Arizona/Oklahoma/Providence/Davidson (Battle 4 Atlantis)
December 7th vs Kentucky (in Climate Pledge Arena)
December 14th vs UConn (in Madison Square Garden)
December 18th vs Nicholls State
December 28th vs UCLA (in Intuit Dome)
