The downward spiral continues on for the Zags.
Gonzaga (14-6, 5-2) drops out of the AP Top 25 after falling to Oregon State on the road and Santa Clara in front of the Kennel this past week. This is the second time in two seasons that the Zags won’t have a number next to their name as they were unranked from Week 11 to Week 16 during the 2023-24 campaign.

The Zags received a total of 34 votes. Saint Mary’s (16-3, 6-0) received 12 votes who Gonzaga will play on Saturday, February 1st in Moraga.
In KenPom, Gonzaga moved down to No. 14. The Zags have the No. 6 adjusted offensive efficiency and the No. 60 adjusted defensive efficiency.
In the NET rankings, Gonzaga also dropped all the way down to No. 19. The Zags have a 2-5 record in Quad 1 games and 2-1 in Quad 2 games. Five other West Coast Conference programs rank in the Top 100 with Saint Mary’s (No. 27), Oregon State (No. 60), Santa Clara (No. 62), San Francisco (No. 68), and Washington State (No. 79).
As of right now, the remaining Quad 1 opportunities for the Zags would be at Saint Mary’s, at Santa Clara, and vs. San Francisco at the Chase Center. Gonzaga travels to Portland next to take on the Pilots on Saturday, January 25th at 5 PM PT on ESPN+. A long week of practice to make sense of what his going wrong defensively for this team.
