Another huge opportunity against UConn in the Big Apple to right the wrongs that occurred in the late minutes against Kentucky in Seattle.
After falling to Kentucky in a 90-89 overtime loss in the Battle in Seattle, Gonzaga (7-2) dropped one spot in the fifth regular season edition of the Associated Press Top 25 poll. The Zags received a total of 1,082 points with no first place votes.
The Wildcats (8-1) dropped one spot to #5 since they lost on the road at Clemson earlier in the week, 70-66. Kentucky received 1,284 points. UCLA (8-1) rejoined the Top 25 at #24 with 229. Saint Mary’s (9-1) received 20 votes.
Fun fact – 100% of the national champions since 2004 were ranked in the Top 12 in the Week Six AP poll.

Gonzaga’s next chance to get back in the win column will take place on the world’s biggest stage, Madison Square Garden in New York City.
