Gonzaga is still playing in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, but the Bulldogs are already making moves for next season.
Michael Ajayi a 6-foot-7 junior guard from Pepperdine, announced Tuesday he will transfer to the Bulldogs. The Kent, Wash. native averaged 17.2 points and 9.9 rebounds last season for the Waves, including a 30-point outing against Pacific last month and a 31-point night against UNLV in November.
Numerous other schools reached out, including Indiana, Kansas, Arizona., Arkansas, Baylor, UCLA, Virginia, Ole Miss, USC and Xavier, per Tipton Edits.
Late-blooming 6-foot-7 forward Michael Ajayi is one of the top prospects in the transfer portal. The JUCO product led Pepperdine in scoring, rebounding & three-point percentage this season. Multi-positional defender w/ a 7-foot wingspan & a budding offensive game. NBA intrigue. pic.twitter.com/5g1GIcGThT
